Responses to amelioration treatments that improve the productivity of sandy soils in the Southern Australian Cropping Region

The database contains the 137 site years of trial results at 24 different sites that were part of the GRDC Sandy Soils project (CSP00203). The results presented include cumulative and annual yield (statistically analysed), crop establishment and biomass for trials established between 2014 and 2021. The treatments included a range of deep ripping (30-60cm deep), spading, inclusion ripping and/or inversion ploughing approaches, with/without additional amendments (fertiliser, N-rich hay, chicken manure, clay.
