Rabbit Organoids for Research
In a recent breakthrough, our team has been able to, for the first time, grow rabbit calicivirus in cell culture. Previously, research into rabbit calicivirus required the use of animal experiments. With the advent of organoid cultures in the laboratory, we can now study the fundamentals of the virus, which has established itself in the Australian landscape, and is also used as a biocontrol agent to control wild rabbit populations.
