Tools and resources
A set of tools is being developed through this research that can be applied by biosecurity regulators, industry stakeholders and other researchers. The tool kit includes methods, models, interactive calculators, templates and other resources that can be used to:
- Develop new systems approach-based phytosanitary protocols and validate their efficacy
- Refine, simplify or more rigorously validate existing phytosanitary protocols
- Assess the likely efficacy of protocols proposed in market access applications
- Design rigorous risk management responses for wider biosecurity issues or incursions
A roadmap of our tools
This graphic shows the process that could be followed to develop a systems approach trade protocol, and where the tools developed through this research can be applied.
What tools are available now
A risk framework for designing systems approaches
Our risk reduction framework builds on earlier methods for the development of systems approaches and supports more rigorous modelling of risk outcomes
Menu of measures
This menu of phytosanitary measures is a good place to start exploring management options that could be included in a systems approach, how these options reduce risks, and what data is needed to verify them
Consignment inspection sampling made easy
This interactive calculator helps determine the correct sampling rate for consignments of fresh produce
Over the coming months, we will upload further tools highlighted in the roadmap. We will also add a glossary of terms that are commonly used in the biosecurity and phytosanitary systems approach fields.
