Application of drones to upgrade aeromagnetic anomalies
Australia has world-leading regional aeromagnetic coverage. Across many regions prospective for mineral exploration we have coverage at 200 or 400 metre line spacing at ground clearances of 50 to 80 metres. However, many of the anomalies that are mapped are insufficiently resolved to support reliable inversion. We are investigating the suitability of lightweight drone systems to infill anomalies of interest as a possible alternative to re-flying complete surveys at higher resolution.
