Santiago Mahimairaja: Professor

Professor Santiago Mahimairaja is CEO of the Sugar Research Institute of Fiji in Lautoka, Fiji.

He is a Soil and Environmental Scientist with 34 years of experience in agricultural research and education. He completed his Ph.D. in Soil Science at Massey University, New Zealand and did his Post-Doctoral work on Phytoremediation of Metal contamination at Massey University, New Zealand and University of Georgia, USA. He has served in various capacities including the Dean, Faculty of Agriculture at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, India. As an Expert Member, he served in the Board of Studies of several State Agricultural Universities. Professor Mahimairaja also has served in the Board of Directors of Tamil Nadu Sugar Corporation Ltd and Perambalur Sugar Mills Ltd.
