Congratulations to the team ! Our paper “A Survey of Wearable Devices and Challenges” is accepted to IEEE Communications Surveys and Tutorials !

Congratulations Benoy ! Our paper “e-DASH: Modelling an Energy-Aware DASH Player” is accepted to IEEE WoWMoM 2017.

I was awarded “Malcolm Chaikin Prize” for Research Excellence in Engineering at UNSW for 2015. The prize is awarded for the best thesis (high quality thesis, strong ability to convey the excitement of his field of research to the scientific community and raising the profile of Engineering to the community at large) in the calendar year.

Our paper “AFV: Enabling Application Function Virtualization and Scheduling in Wearable Networks” is accepted to Ubicomp 2016 !

Our paper “TransFetch: A Viewing Behavior Driven Video Distribution Framework in Public Transport” is accepted to LCN 2016 !

Short Bio

Kanchana Thilakarathna is a Researcher at the Networks Group, Cyber Physical Systems Research Program at Data61. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications from the University of New South Wales and a B.Sc. degree with First Class Honours specialising in Electronics and Telecommunications from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. He has more than three years of industry experience as a Mobile Radio Network Optimisation Engineer, before pursuing postgraduate studies. He had a visiting researcher appointment at INRIA, France in 2012. Kanchana also holds Conjoint Lecturer appointment at the school of Computer Science and Engineering at UNSW.
