Energy data explorer
To plan for future energy needs, we need two things: an accurate model, and relevant data sets. We are developing a true-to-physics model of the entire energy system in Australia [LINK to SST webpage], and gathering, curating and cleaning Australian energy system data sets that can be used with the model to answer any number of questions.
The interactive graph below shows the data sets we have collected so far.
You can click on a category to see all of its subcategories represented on the map, and toggle each subcategory on and off. Non-geospatial data sets are listed in the table but not shown on the map. Click on a subcategory in the list for more information, and to access the data.
Interactive chart that says “114 unique datasets”, “47% subcategories covered”, and a last updated date across the top. Down the left hand side are the following options to click on:

Over the next several months we will continue to find and share data, and create data as the Systems Science Toolbox is developed. We are putting together a team of passionate data scientists, modellers and coders for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Will you join us?
