What is the Chilean future regarding climate change?
How will extreme weather and climate-related events affect Chile’s socio-ecological systems?
Is it possible to incorporate explicit risk assessment tools and threats associated with future climate change scenarios into current territorial planning systems?
Building on the development, validation and transfer of numerical modeling tools, this project aims to support answering these questions and support the explicit assessment of opportunities, threats and uncertainties associated with future scenarios of climate change on the marine and terrestrial socio-ecological systems of the Chilean Patagonia.
This project comes from a joint partnership between CSIRO Chile, the Patagonia Ecosystem Research Center (CIEP), and the University of Magallanes (UMAG); with the support of the Regional Governments of Los Lagos, Aysén and Magallanes; associated entities in this project.
