Development of Standard Methods for the Resources Industry

Best practices in sampling, analysis and physical testing are continuously changing to accommodate and characterise new mineral products. CSIRO Mineral Resources is proactive and experienced in method development has a strong technical presence at ISO (International Organisation for Standardisation) technical committees and international conferences to influence the development and revision of new and existing national and international methods that are important to Australia’s mineral industries. The Standards Development team has improved sampling, sample preparation, analysis and physical testing practices in the mining industry for iron ores, coal and coke, and copper, lead, zinc and nickel ores and concentrates. Specifically, this is through:
