Women in AI Australia

Fereshteh Nayyeri had the honor of being a keynote speaker at a morning tea and networking event organized by Women in AI Australia and the National AI Centre (NAIC) on March 20th 2025 at The Precinct, Brisbane. The event provided a fantastic opportunity for women in AI to connect, collaborate, and lead the conversation on responsible innovation while working towards building a more inclusive AI workforce.

During her talk, Fereshteh highlighted ‘Women Leading AI for Environmental Impact’, sharing insights on how AI and computer vision are driving positive change in our waterways. She showcased a project that uses AI to detect and classify litter, including plastic waste, in Australian waterways, aiming to make a real environmental impact.

It was inspiring to be part of such an empowering event, and Fereshteh is excited about the future of women leading AI for a more sustainable and inclusive world!
