Vanessa joined the marine debris team at CSIRO in 2017, after spending 8 years at the University of Tasmania in research management and Executive Officer positions with the Centre for Environment and IMAS.
As the marine debris team’s project support officer, Vanessa sits across both the marine debris and illegal fishing research portfolios. She handles day to day project management for the team, including operations and logistics, technical support and scientific editing.
Vanessa lived and worked in Japan for nearly 6 years before moving to Tasmania and completing a Master of Environmental Management at UTAS, where her research focused on biodiversity values in restored agricultural landscapes. Vanessa also has a Bachelor of Science from ANU.
