Coral larvae restoration featured in the GBR Impact Evaluation

The final synthesis report of the Great Barrier Reef (GBR) Impact Evaluation is now available to read here.

One of the five featured case studies includes the coral larval settlement and reseeding’ portfolio of work, which is a major part of our nature based solutions research portfolio.

The report was a comprehensive review of CSIRO’s research impact on the Great Barrier Reef was completed by non-profit research institute RTI International in late 2024. The review covered our research portfolio ($142 Million of investment comprising 261 projects from 2011 to 2023). It aimed to capture the impact of our Reef research to date and explore the role of future science and technology in the Great Barrier Reef. External stakeholder feedback from across nine partner organisations also helped informed the review.
