Monitoring with cameras

CSIRO Ruggedised Autonomous Gigapixel System (CRAGS)

Our panoramic cameras provide a snapshot of coastal areas with the ability to repeatably monitor vessel activity at high-resolution and low cost. The system’s robotics removes the need for on-site human intervention, and can capture in one system, an equivalent of multiple cameras set ups at a study site, by panning over the study site while taking images. CRAGS provides a binocular-style insight into larger landscape areas that require monitoring. The high resolution can also assist in recording vessel information such as number of people on board, vessel name and vessel activities and can be a powerful, fine scale monitoring tool for coastal areas of interest.
