Restoring tidal marshes for carbon storage and sequestration under climate change scenarios
As part of our IORA Blue Carbon Hub early career visiting scientist program, Jackie Raw undertook a research project to explore the restoration of tidal marsh for carbon storage and sequestration under sea-level rise at the Swartkops Estuary in South Africa. Here she explains the project, along with her research examining the responses of blue carbon ecosystems to current and predicted threats associated with global climate change.
