MagVaX: A Novel Vaccine Platform Technology for African Swine Fever

Dr Tanjir Islam will be developing a liposome based vaccine delivery system for African swine fever.
Head and shoulders of a man wearing his PhD graduation hat.

Dr Tanjir Islam.

African swine fever (ASF) is a devastating disease of pigs and currently no vaccine is available.

My aim is to develop a liposome based vaccine delivery system for ASF which will be immunogenic, nontoxic and stable.

I will develop a liposomal vaccine delivery system that can generate both humoral and cellular responses for ASF in pigs. I will use techniques like single-cell omics, Genome technology, optimized organic film hydration method, magnet nanoparticles, organic synthesis for the development of my vaccine platform.

The longer term goal is to develop a liposome vaccine candidate that can be used for any type of viral or bacterial pathogens.
