Sustainability issues are of critical importance in managing environmental risks as countries experience economic growth. These risks encompass a wide range of areas, such as emissions, climate change, energy and food security, urbanisation, waste management, and land use change.
A key challenge in assessing policies and other changes that affect sustainability is the interaction of human and environmental systems within the broader economy at multiple spatiotemporal scales.
Our team addresses this challenge by developing and using integrated environmental-economic tools that account for domestic and global interactions among economic sectors. By using these tools, we can analyse the interplay between sustainability and the economy to inform effective decision-making.
