Biography
Dr. Yingying Yu works in CSIRO Environment. She focusses on river system modelling, water use and catchment management and undertakes regional spatial analysis and remote sensing to inform environmental model development. She also has experience in programming with Matlab, Python, and R.

Windmills pumping groundwater at Penong, SA.
Before joining CSIRO in 2018, she worked as a research fellow at Griffith University, focusing on hydrodynamic modelling and flood mapping. She has extensive experience in hydrological and hydrodynamic modelling and data analysis in water resource engineering and management.
Her research interests include river system modelling, irrigation water use and sharing, application of remote sensing for surface water detection and irrigation water quantification.
Yingying has contributed to digital water projects in the Murray-Darling Basin, Australia, as well as international integrated water resources management projects in Nepal, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.
