Research Technician

  • Haylee has a background in environmental science and hydrogeology and uses cross-disciplinary knowledge to improve understanding of risks and impacts to water-dependent ecosystems.

Biography

Haylee is a Research Technician within the Risks to Groundwater Resources team who provide integrated assessments of impact and risk to groundwater quantity and quality to support sustainable development and resilient management of groundwater resources and dependent environments.

Haylee has a background in environmental science and hydrogeology with experience in environmental risk and impact assessments, hydrogeological characterisation and field investigations. Her research interest is primarily in the field of ecohydrogeology to improve the conceptual understanding and therefore management of groundwater-dependent ecosystems.

She contributes to large multidisciplinary projects through the integration of ecology, surface water and groundwater hydrology and geology with other disciplines. Her current research activities include assessing regional-scale environmental impacts to water-dependent ecosystems from resource development, including mining, hydrogen, renewable energy and conventional and unconventional gas, characterising hydrogeological environments of subterranean fauna, and evaluating the risks of climate change to ecosystems.
