Introducing our Educator on Board – Thomas Coad

I am a science and mathematics teacher at Rose Bay High School in Hobart, Tasmania. Whilst teaching secondary school students across grades seven through ten, I am constantly in pursuit of new and innovative ways to engage and motivate.

Growing up with the ocean on my doorstep, as well as a burning passion for marine science, I leapt at the opportunity to participate in the Educator on Board program. The experiences that I stand to gain and in turn, impart to my students, holds the potential to influence the next generation of research scientists.

On board, I cannot wait to see what new discoveries will be made by RV Investigator’s multibeam swath bathymetric mapping system, as we attempt to reveal some of the many mysteries of the deep.
