What is new?

Environmental research requires and uses digital technology already. The focus on digital technology is required as the opportunity for use is growing at a faster rate than our ability to apply it. This initiative is designed to be an accelerator, and provide an opportunity for researchers to apply the latest technologies, solve problems and develop new skills. The Digital Water and Landscapes initiative will:

• Use new and emerging digital technologies to provide novel solutions to intractable problems.​
• Use new capabilities to transform land and water information services.​
• Partner with digital specialists in applying and developing new technologies that deeply complement our research and impact focus
• Work on data standards, interoperability, data sharing and privacy, sensors, data integration, and data assimilation that will complement our research.
