Outreach: Science at school
Recently, Dr Brett Kettle, a Marine Biologist and one of our Visiting Researchers, visited his grand kids at school and talked to them about the underwater glider built and designed for broad-scale coral reef surveys using AI.
This is work is a partnership between CSIRO’s Data61 and Oceans and Atmosphere BUs in collaboration with BABEL-sbf and the Queensland University of Technology to automate broad-scale monitoring and surveying methods for coral reefs.
More detailed information on this project will be coming soon.
Well done Brett for taking our science into the classrooms!
