Duration: 2017 – 2019

Data sharing and analytics across-government jurisdictions should be simple but in reality it can be difficult.  This is due to complex issues involving social aspects such as culture and trust, competing organisational priorities, legitimate concerns about protecting sensitive information, and finally technology, resourcing and capability constraints. In recent years, there has been a renewed interest in accelerating the extent of cross-government data sharing to support enhanced analytics, improved services and analytics.  This builds on existing government efforts to provide open data and joined-up customer facing services This project is to conduct a critical review models for data sharing and analytics surveying a number of government jurisdictions.  The outcome of this project is to review and compare the broad management and technical models for data sharing and analytics, as well as relevant frameworks and architectures.
