Integration layer

Every individual knowledge-stack represents a body of knowledge associated with  a particular set of data.  An integration/networking layer integrates this local knowledge across environmental domains, disciplines, and institutions. It is meant to connect individual knowledge-stacks into a hierarchical network through the web API interfaces.

Questions below are intended to facilitate discussions during the Digital Coast meeting (April, 2017)

• What does the integration actually means with regard to different layers of the knowledge stack?
• Is the notion of the semantic web relevant here?
• Any implications to the privacy and integrity of data?
