Jelena Markov

Research Scientist in Potential Field Imaging

I am a geophysicist with a keen interest in innovation and new technology development with application to mineral and oil & gas exploration. Along with my academic qualifications, I have industry experience in the acquisition, processing and interpretation of potential field data. This experience includes working on several exploration projects in Australia, along with experience working internationally. I have been involved in the development of methods and workflows for edge enhancement, quantitative interpretation and 2D and 3D modelling of magnetic and gravity data (click here).

One of my areas of research interests is the developments we can make through agile approaches, which is where my interest in geoscience hackathons arises.

Technical skills

  • Exceptional knowledge of methods and workflows for potential field data processing and interpretation, developed in industry and academia
  • Industry experience in survey design, acquisition QA/QC and processing of airborne magnetic, gravity and gravity gradiometry data
  • Experienced user of various geophysical and geological software packages
  • Participated in resource hackathons and online challenges, collaborating with non-industry professionals
