I cannot select files – there is an asterisk instead of a check box

Individual files greater than 10GB cannot be downloaded as a zip file. An asterisk (“*”) will appear instead of a check box.

If your institution does not allow you to install software, here are some workarounds.

See if you can get your IT department to install the software for you.
Try downloading a “portable” version of some software, e.g. WinSCP (external site).
