International Scholarships

Scholarships are available for eligible researchers looking to undertake research or collaboration activities in selected priority countries to work in partnership with international research organisations on critical minerals. 

The funding supports research aligned with the Australian Critical Minerals Strategy 2023-2030 and fosters innovation that addresses technical challenges in critical minerals supply chains.

Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents (including applicants who are Australian Citizens who are temporarily overseas). Applicants must be over the age of 18 years. Applicants must be employed by an employer with an Australian Business Number (ABN) or Australian Company Number (ACN)

The value of the scholarship may be up to AU$10,000 per month for a maximum period of six months. Funding for economy class airfares, reasonable accommodation, transportation and expenses. Applicants are required to provide details of expenses and must be approved by the Hub

Successful applicants must be involved in activities relating to the field of critical minerals research based on the Australian Critical Minerals List and on benefit of the Australian Critical Minerals Strategy 2023-2030. Applicants must also be planning to undertake any of the following activities during their time abroad: collaborative joint research, fact-finding missions: understanding international research agencies’ capabilities and capacity to explore opportunities for future collaboration or attendance at conferences. All travel must be undertaken between 1 June 2025 and 1 May 2026. Trips reports must be provided to the Hub before 15 May 2026.
