Addressing the loss of employment within manufacturing in Camden

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many small/medium sized businesses, as well as different workplaces, within the manufacturing industry in Camden have either been shut down temporarily or permanently, rendering many individuals without jobs. Our solution focuses on creating an interactive and informative website which will be a central source of information that will help individuals prepare for a new job or a transition back to their former job. The website will also include information regarding courses and workshops for business owners in the Camden area to help them improve their business models and financial planning, and retain employees. Our project will provide connections between the individuals and businesses in the manufacturing industry, to help both job-seeking individuals and businesses to find and retain employment.

Throughout the project we have learnt about the importance of reliable and accessible information to individuals, to increase the employment rate for certain industries. Furthermore, we have researched the functional and non-functional features of a website and have found that to develop and present an informational website is a task that requires many teams to manage factors such as advertising and website reliability and security.
