Disability 1 – Elderslie High School
Our project is an app that teachers can use to find out the best solution or way to fix a problem that they have with trying to teach a child with autism. When a child with autism is in a school environment, it can be stressful for them to be calm and focused enough to learn. Their teacher can use our app to search for the best solution to each problem they face with trying to effectively educate the child with autism.
The ideal qualities of our app are; easy to use, visually appealing, easy to quickly access, and helpful with communication. The creation of our app would need to include someone who is knowledgeable about coding and designing applications and someone who professionally understands people with autism, a specialist. We have chosen to create an app because the teacher will know exactly what to do and how to help the child with autism in every problem or situation that may arise. STEM can be a very hands-on career. I think I would quite consider a career in STEM. Being able to be innovative and make an impact in the world would be a fun career.
