Below are examples of the vertical levels used by CCAM. Note that there are two classes of vertical levels. The first class ranges from 20m to 35 km and includes 27 levels as well as the eigenv.??b files. The second class ranges from 12 m to 44 km and is described by the eigenv.?? files. Typically the 20m-35km class is used for climate simulations, whereas the 12m-44km is used for numerical weather prediction. Below are examples of some of the vertical levels used by CCAM with the corresponding eigenvector file.
