Conveyor belt for x-ray imaging fruit
The Problem
Researchers needed a setup for x-ray imaging several pieces of fruit at a time to test out their new x-ray imaging technologies and algorithms.
Our Solution
The Sensor Prototyping Hub designed a custom conveyor belt setup for x-ray imaging. The design will allow researchers to image fruit at different speeds, fruit types, quantities, and layout scenarios, with the option to adjust the x-ray source and detector positions for achieving different magnifications.
Our Collaborators
The project was completed by Jack Waller and was overseen by Ben James, with input and manufacture from technical staff within the National Collections and Marine Infrastructure Research Unit.
