This dataset consists of water quality data collected By the University of Technology Sydney at Bonna Point Boat ramp, Botany Bay. It contains water sample data on physical parameters pertaining to water quality. Data collected using a WTW Multi 3630 IDS Multi-Parameter Portable Meter immediately after sample bucket retrieval.
- After arriving on site, a two-point pH calibration (7-10) is performed according to manufacturer’s instructions, following article 5.2.3 Automatic Calibration. The probe is thoroughly rinsed with DI water before, during and after calibration.
- WTW Multiparameter Probe measurements are taken from each individual bucket during step 1 of AM method 1.5.1. The probes are left inside the bucket for 2 to 3 minutes for the readings to stabilise.
- An image is taken of the WTW Multiparameter display and data recorded.
For consistency with the AM database, unit conversions are conducted for dissolved oxygen using the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES) conventions (https://www.ices.dk/data/tools/Pages/Unit-conversions.aspx; detailed in Table 2.31_1).
Table 2.31_1)
Parameter | UTS Units | AM Units | Conversion Formula |
Dissolved Oxygen | mg/L | Umol/L | UTS value x 1000 /MW O2 31.998 |
