meth_3.1.8 Qiagen DNeasy PowerWater Sterivex Kit modified for removal of filter from sterivex

Extracted DNA from frozen sterivex samples using Qiagen DNeasy® PowerWater® Sterivex™ Kit  (https://www.qiagen.com/au/products/discovery-and-translational-research/dna-rna-purification/dna-purification/microbial-dna/dneasy-powerwater-sterivex-kit/?clear=true#orderinginformation) following manufacturer’s instructions with the following modifications:

1. Sterivex were cracked open aseptically and the filter membrane transferred into the 5 mL PowerBead tubes prior to the addition of any lysis buffers. The extraction procedure was continued from Step 2 (with steps 11 and 12 omitted).
2. DNA was eluted in 30 µL of 10 mM TE pH 8.0.
