Future of Farming Systems Symposium a hit
We’ve recently released our Ag2050 Scenarios Report, which has the goal of exploring socio-technical and innovative pathways toward a productive, resilient and sustainable future for Australian agriculture.
Thus it’s the ideal time to bring together researchers to share insights, find synergies in their work and discuss the possibilities and challenges with emerging technologies and their application.
The Future of Farming Systems Research Symposium was held in South Australia on June 4 and 5, just for that purpose. It attracted agricultural researchers and industry representatives – 80 in the room and 100 online – from a diverse range of backgrounds and scientific interests.
Presentations were delivered on a range of themes, including the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in addressing the challenges faced in agriculture, how AI and data might be used in future decision making and the research work being done in biological interactions, digital livestock and On Farm Experimentation.
Insights were shared into the lessons learnt from past and current farming system research and conversations had around ensuring the research community is engaged in relevant research of genuine value to end users.
