Funding
Fee waivers, grants, and other funding opportunities are available to support participation in the symposium and follow-on activities. Descriptions of opportunities and relevant dates are described below. The applications will be made available on the opportunity’s opening date.
Student fee waivers
- A limited number of fee waivers are available for students (Undergraduate, Honours, Masters, or PhD) to cover the cost of registration. Opens 15 July, closes 05 September.
Public participant fee waivers
- A limited number of fee waivers are available for participants from the public to cover the cost of registration. Opens 15 July, closes 15 October.
- “Public” refers to individuals or communities who are interested citizens, community members, end users, and others who bring valuable lived experience, public perspectives, or local knowledge, but who do not work professionally in the fields central to the symposium’s focus.
Carer grants
- A limited number of carer grants are available to facilitate attendance at the Next Generation Responsible AI Symposium. Opens 15 July, closes 05 September.
Travel grants
- A limited number of EMCR and Equity Travel Grants are available to facilitate attendance at the Next Generation Responsible AI Symposium. Opens 15 July, closes 05 September.
Presentation Award
- Awards will be selected at the symposium.
Outreach Award
- Teams completing a post-symposium paper or related activity to move ‘from principles to practice’ are encouraged to apply for an Outreach Award to progress their work. More information will be made available to teams following the symposium.
